Cutting glitter tips:
•Glitter can be inconsistent from batch to batch and color to color. Therefore, always do test cuts for best weeding results.
•You should always see a light scratch in your liner after you weed out your test cut. We often recommend double cutting if you cutter is accurate enough to go back to the exact same spot. This helps see the weed lines when weeding your pattern.
•Glitter HTV is very different than standard HTV like PerfecPress and Easyweed. Since glitter has a rough surface, completely different adhesives are used to adhere the glitter to the liner. Some glitters weed easier than others based on the amount of glue used to adhere the glitter to the liner. Also some glitters require adding a white base to the hot melt adhesive to make the glitter opaque enough for dark garments. Some colors of glitter require different amount of glitter flakes to make enough coverage for the color to "pop". Glitter flake do not always stand straight up in uniform direction, we call this the grain of the flakes. You can experience different cutting cutting into the grain or with the grain. All of these are great reason to do test cuts most importantly with glitter HTV.
•Also, if your plotter allows you to change the thickness of the blade, using a 60 degree blade will make the job much easier. As always, you should do a test before sending your whole job, and adjust your pressure/speed from there. If you are unfamiliar on performing a test cut, there is a guide here.
