What is DTF?

DTF, or direct-to-film, is a type of textile printing method that involves the direct printing of your designs onto a type of special film. This film that has your printed design on it is often referred to as the DTF transfer.

How Your Design Goes from Film to the Material

In order for your design to appear on your chosen material, such as a hat or t-shirt, the film that has your design embedded within it has to have heat applied to it in order to transfer the embedded design onto the fabric or material you have chosen. This works because the heat activates the special ink that is on that film, making the ink adhere to your chosen fabric. As a result, your design on that film is now embedded onto your chosen fabric or material.

When the ink adheres to the fabric, it actually has a soft feel to it. Additionally, a wide range of vibrant colors are possible with this ink, meaning your design can be in full color, thereby accentuating your design work and delivering a more powerful optical message to people who see it, either to buy that product itself or to note your business and its core products or services.
